It’s a given that modern, trendy pieces look pretty hanging in your closet, but having a go-to set of basics will be the foundation to your capsule wardrobe. Basics are versatile pieces you’ll love year after year and will get countless wear out of. They’re definitely the most bang for your buck. Even more, you can easily add trendy pieces with your basics for a more elevated look. Having a well-rounded group of basics will fulfill all of your styling needs.
Topshop – I’ve stocked up on all my casual black, gray and white tees from here and couldn’t be happier. They’re so soft and, more importantly, inexpensive so you can easily get a bunch to keep in your closet.
Free People – They have the cutest simple tanks and bodysuits that are perfect for layering – or even wearing alone on a hot summer night.
Levi’s – You know me and my love for Levi’s…what can I say? They have some of the best quality denim that’s actually affordable. I’ve bought my denim jacket, jeans and shorts from Levi’s and I know they’ll never fail me.
Urban Outfitters – The store that houses all the graphic tees I could ever want and more. They also have a great selection of bodysuits, cardigans and long sleeves. Bonus points too for their cool vintage section.
Brandy Melville – A one stop shop for all things cute tees and tanks, Brandy Melville has so many basics. Oh and most of them are less than $20. The downside is the brand only carries one size.
