Get the Look: Romee Strijd | Tuxedo Jumpsuit

I’m not going to lie. I look to the VS Angels’ Instagrams to stay up-to-date on their style and what they’re wearing. As far as street style goes, the VS Angels kill it every single time. Their model off-duty outfits are undoubtedly chic and on-trend whether they’re going to the gym or running around during NYFW. If you’re looking for celeb style inspo, they know a thing or two about fashion. I do love Romee Strijd’s style because it’s very girly, cool and of-the-moment. She’s always rocking the latest trends but with her own twist and isn’t afraid to take risks. Cue Romee Strijd’s tuxedo jumpsuit…it’s everything.

For today’s Get the Look, I wanted to do this tuxedo jumpsuit outfit she posted on her Instagram this past Sunday. She’s wearing this sleek, silk black jumpsuit with a black bra layered underneath, white booties, a leather belt bag, and cat eye sunglasses. Even though she was rocking this casually during the day, I thought this glam look would be perfect for any kind of event or night out. It’s flattering and a different twist on the usual LBD or jeans + leather jacket combo. What I love about it too is that she mixed neutrals – specifically black and brown. This is considered a “fashion rule” by many but I think it’s outdated. I believe fashion has no rules or limits – do what you want and wear what you want.

Her silk tuxedo jumpsuit is from Fleur du Mal ($645) and the black strapless bra she paired underneath is unsurprisingly from Victoria’s Secret ($49.50). Her white kitten heel booties are Stuart Weitzman ($575). As for accessories, she’s wearing the Wandler ‘Anna’ belt bag ($415) and ‘Puss & Boots’ dark tortoise sunglasses from Pared eyewear ($230). Her outfit totals $1,734.50.

As stunning and luxurious as this jumpsuit is, it’s very expensive for a statement piece that you’ll save for special occasions or an OOTN here and there. That’s why you can still rock this outfit but at a much more inexpensive price point. I found two different tuxedo jumpsuits, both from River Island, that have a comparable silhouette to the Fleur du Mal jumpsuit Romee is wearing. These both have a similar long sleeve, plunging neckline and cropped pant that is very flattering. Although these options don’t come in the luxurious silk fabric, they have the similar tuxedo look that’s ultimately what you’re going for.

If you want to go for this exact same look, then the Victoria’s Secret bra she’s wearing is perfect. It’s a great price point for a good quality bra that’ll be a staple in your lingerie drawer. You can wear this with literally any other outfit. For me, I would choose to also layer either a lacy bodysuit or cami over the strapless bra for a more wearable, conservative look. Trust me, I love a sexy style moment for a night-out but sometimes I’m not in the mood to wear just a bra as a main layer. A lacy bodysuit or cami would be a beautiful addition to this already glam ensemble.

Her trendy booties are hard to replicate considering they’re from Stuart Weitzman, but I found a few pairs that will do the trick. These white booties from Kendall & Kylie or Steve Madden have the same kitten heel that gives the booties their trendy appearance. Even though this bag from Kate Spade can still be considered a tad more expensive, it beats the Wandler price by half. The fact that it’s a neutral color and has the belt bag shape scores major points to be comparable with Romee’s. As for the tortoise cat eye sunglasses, I found a pair from TOMS that are quiet similar to the Pared. They have the tortoise shell color and cat eye shape that’ll be the cherry on top to your ensemble.
